CoDash vs BambooHR
BambooHR is one of the best-known HR platforms in the world, built in the United States and sold here. This is what a UK employer should know before comparing it with a product built for UK rules.
BambooHR is a mature American HR platform with strong records, hiring and performance tools, and prices published in US dollars: $10, $17 and $25 per employee per month. Its payroll and benefits administration are for US employees only, and its contract is under the law of Utah. CoDash is built in the UK for UK employers and includes its whole product in one sterling plan. BambooHR's UK page gives a sterling starting price of £8.10 per employee; CoDash is £99 a month for the first 20 people, then £2.50.
Where is BambooHR strong?
- Maturity and scale. Founded in 2008, BambooHR says it has over 30,000 customers and more than 2,400 companies in the UK.
- It publishes tier prices, which most of its direct rivals do not: Core, Pro and Elite at $10, $17 and $25 per employee per month on its US page.
- Hiring in every plan. Applicant tracking is included on all three tiers, with 5, 25 or 50 open jobs.
- Depth at the top. Elite adds compensation planning, salary benchmarking and levels and bands, which CoDash does not offer.
- Security audit. BambooHR states an annual third-party SOC audit and lists a SOC 2 Type 2 report in its trust centre.
- Flexible terms. "Choose flexible month-to-month terms or an extended term for added certainty", with a seven-day free trial.
If you employ people in the United States as well as the UK, BambooHR's US payroll and benefits are a reason to choose it that nothing on this page outweighs.
Where is CoDash different?
- Priced in pounds, in full. BambooHR's UK page says "BambooHR plans start at just £8.10/mo per employee", with a flat rate "starting at £200/mo" for 25 employees or fewer, and a "Get Quote" button for each plan. CoDash's price for any headcount is on the pricing page.
- Performance without the upgrade. In BambooHR, review cycles, one-to-ones and goal tracking begin at the Pro tier. In CoDash reviews, 360 feedback and goals are in every plan.
- Rotas and time clocking included. BambooHR sells Time and Attendance, including shift scheduling and a time clock, as an add-on with no published price. CoDash includes rotas, clock-in and timesheets.
- Expenses and learning. CoDash includes both. We could not find expenses on BambooHR's site, and its training offer is a set of compliance courses.
- UK law and UK contract. CoDash is written around UK statutory leave, right to work checks and the working time rules, and contracts under the law of England and Wales. BambooHR's terms are governed by "the substantive laws of the State of Utah".
- Data in Europe by default. CoDash hosts each customer's own database in the EU (France). BambooHR says data is "hosted in the United States, Canada, or Ireland, depending on the location and needs of individual customers", so ask which.

Who should pick which?
Choose BambooHR if you have staff in the United States, want compensation planning and benchmarking, or value a long-established product with a large integration list more than a UK-specific one.
