CoDash vs HiBob
HiBob's platform, Bob, is one of the most capable HR systems on the market, with its own UK payroll and a London office. It is also priced by conversation. Here is how the two approaches compare.
HiBob sells a core HR platform with separately priced modules for talent, hiring, learning, time and attendance, compensation and UK payroll, and it does not publish any prices. CoDash includes its modules in one published plan, and does not run payroll. HiBob's terms renew for 12 months at a time and say fees can change at renewal. Its strengths are depth, its own UK payroll, and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certification. CoDash's are a public price, a monthly contract and a product built for UK employers of 20 to 1,000.
Where is HiBob strong?
- Its own UK payroll. HiBob sells UK Payroll as a module, covering payslips, P60s, P11Ds and tax-code updates, after acquiring a UK payroll platform in 2024. CoDash does not run payroll.
- Depth in talent and compensation. Performance with self, peer, manager and upward reviews, goals, engagement surveys, a compensation module and salary benchmarking, plus workforce planning.
- Learning and hiring modules, and an anonymous reporting module called Your Voice.
- Security certifications. HiBob states that it is "ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27018:2019, and SOC2 Type 2 certified".
- A UK entity. UK customers contract with Hi Bob (UK) Limited under the law of England and Wales.
- Scale. HiBob says more than 5,500 companies use Bob, and it has plans aimed at companies of over 1,000 people.
If you want HR and UK payroll in one product and have the budget and the time for a sales process, Bob is a serious choice.
Where is CoDash different?
- You can see the price. HiBob's pricing page says its pricing depends on "your company's size, needs, and the modules you choose", and gives no figure. CoDash is £99 a month including 20 people, then £2.50 per person, published for any headcount.
- The modules are in the plan. On HiBob, Talent (surveys, performance, goals, one-to-ones), Hiring, Learning and Time and Attendance are each sold on top of Core. In CoDash they are part of Core.
- You can try it without a sales call. CoDash has an open live demo. We could not find a free trial on HiBob's site, only a demo request.
- A monthly contract. HiBob's subscription terms renew automatically "for a twelve (12) month term", require the customer's notice not later than thirty days before renewal, state that "Fees are subject to change upon subscription renewal", and bill at least the minimum number of users in the order form. CoDash monthly plans end with the billing period.
- Rotas built in. CoDash includes rota planning with clock-in and timesheets. HiBob's module covers clocking and timesheets, and its site lists a scheduling integration.
- Expenses included. We could not find an expenses feature on HiBob's site.

Choose HiBob if you want HR and UK payroll in one platform, need compensation planning and benchmarking, are heading past 1,000 people, or need SOC 2 on a supplier questionnaire today.
