Questions & answers

What is CoDash?

CoDash is an all-in-one HR and employee-experience platform for UK teams of 20 to 1,000. It combines a people directory and org chart, time off and absence, a community feed with kudos and celebrations, anonymous voice, surveys and eNPS, and performance management (1:1s, goals and OKRs, reviews and 360) in a single dashboard, with privacy enforced in code.

Who is CoDash for?

CoDash is built for teams of roughly 20 to 1,000 people, and is at its best between 40 and 150. It suits companies that have outgrown a spreadsheet and a birthday channel but do not want to spend six months implementing an enterprise HRIS - and it grows with you as you scale.

How much does CoDash cost?

There are three plans, each a monthly fee with people included and no VAT charged: Starter at 99 pounds per month including 10 people (then 4 pounds per extra person), Growth at 149 pounds per month including 10 people (then 7 pounds per extra person - most popular), and Scale at 249 pounds per month including 15 people (then 10 pounds per extra person). Annual billing gives two months free.

Can we try CoDash before talking to anyone?

Yes. A live demo is available at demo.codash.co.uk - a shared sandbox with a fictional company already loaded, so you can explore every feature freely before contacting us. The sandbox is shared with other visitors and resets to fresh demo data every night.

How do we import our existing HR data?

A CSV importer creates people and teams in bulk, with per-row error reporting and optional invitation emails, so most companies are live in a day. If you are coming from another HR tool, we help map the export as part of a custom onboarding.

Does CoDash do payroll?

No - payroll (RTI, PAYE, pensions auto-enrolment) is a separate, heavily regulated business and we would rather integrate well than do it badly. CoDash holds the inputs payroll needs - approved leave, absence, TOIL, timesheets and expenses - and exports pay-run files shaped for Xero, Sage and Staffology, so the numbers arrive in your payroll software checked rather than re-keyed.

What happens to our data if CoDash shuts down?

You would get at least 90 days' written notice, the service and its export tooling would stay available throughout that period, and you would leave with a complete export of your data. This is a commitment in our subscription terms, not just a promise on a webpage.

Can managers see individual mood scores or anonymous feedback?

No. Individual mood check-ins are never sent to manager accounts, aggregates are withheld below the k-anonymity threshold (k is at least 5 by default), and anonymous submissions are stored with no author column. These privacy protections are structural, enforced in the application code rather than by policy.

Is CoDash GDPR-compliant?

CoDash builds GDPR workflows in as product features: one-click subject access request exports, anonymise-on-exit for leavers, configurable retention auto-purge, a full audit log, and a 'who has accessed my record' panel for every employee. Data is hosted in Europe.

What is k-anonymity and why does it matter?

k-anonymity is a privacy guarantee where any released data point is indistinguishable among at least k individuals, so no one can be singled out. CoDash applies it to every manager-facing aggregate, only showing team mood, eNPS or survey results once enough distinct people have contributed. It lets employees answer honestly because they cannot be identified from the numbers.

Does CoDash work for hybrid and part-time teams?

Yes. It supports weekly work patterns (office, home or remote) with per-day overrides, a 'where is everyone today' board, pro-rata leave allowances for part-time patterns, half-day bookings, and regional bank holiday calendars.

Does CoDash handle UK-specific HR requirements?

Yes. It is UK-ready out of the box: bank holidays synced from gov.uk, Bradford Factor absence scoring, return-to-work interviews, right-to-work checks with expiry reminders, working time regulation opt-outs, and gender pay gap reporting.

What does the AI manager coach do?

The manager coach reads the same privacy-gated aggregates a manager can already see - mood trends, rising sickness, celebration gaps - and turns them into suggested conversations and 1:1 prompts. It coaches rather than judges, never ranks managers, and degrades gracefully if no AI provider is configured.

Do employees need training to use CoDash?

No. Employees mostly book leave, check in and recognise teammates, and it works like the consumer apps they already use. It installs to a phone as a PWA, and in-app guides plus a searchable help library cover the admin side for HR and managers.

Does CoDash integrate with Slack, Teams and our other tools?

Celebrations and announcements can post automatically to Slack or Teams. On the Scale plan, a read API behind hashed keys and HMAC-signed webhooks (on joiners, leavers, leave decisions and kudos) let you wire CoDash into your other systems. Calendar feeds sync leave and events to Google Calendar or Outlook.

Can we change plan or cancel at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade whenever you like and your data stays put - features simply switch on or off. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time, stop at the end of the period, and you receive a full export of your data.

How long does it take to get started?

Most companies are live in a day. You import people and teams from CSV, invite everyone by email, and follow the built-in setup guides - no consultants or implementation project required.
