In short

Breathe HR starts at £24 a month for up to 10 employees and is priced per business, not per person - £99 a month covers 21-50 staff. It is genuinely cheaper than CoDash on core HR at every size. The comparison only shifts when you add the modules Breathe charges separately for - rota, expenses, recruitment, learning - which CoDash includes in the base price.

Prices checked 9 August 2026 against Breathe's own pricing page (breathehr.com). Vendor pricing changes without notice - always confirm there before deciding. All figures exclude VAT.

What does Breathe HR cost?

Breathe HR core plans, monthly, excluding VAT (checked 9 August 2026).

Starter11-20£44
Regular21-50£99
Pro51-100£175

There's a 14-day free trial, no setup fee and no minimum contract, with roughly 15% off for annual billing on the smaller plans (about 10% on Premium and Plus). Pricing by band rather than per head is a real strength: hiring your eleventh person doesn't change the bill until you cross into the next band.

Breathe vs CoDash: the honest comparison

Compare core HR alone and Breathe wins on price, clearly. Compare what you'd actually be running - leave, attendance and rota, expenses, hiring - and the gap closes:

A 30-person company, monthly, excluding VAT.
SetupBreatheCoDash
Core HR + leave only£99 (Regular)£179 (Starter, 10 included + 20 × £4)
+ rota & attendance£110£179 - included
+ expenses, recruitment, learning£148 (adding the £38 bundle)£179 - included
+ engagement, anonymous voice, performancenot in the product£179 - included

So: on price, Breathe wins at this size - £148 against £179 - and we would rather say that than dress the numbers up. What the money buys differs, though. The Breathe column tops out there: engagement, anonymous voice and performance are not modules you can add, they are not in the product. The CoDash column is the whole thing at one price, behind one login, with no bundle to assemble. If core HR plus the modules is genuinely all you need, buy the cheaper one.

What else differs?

  • Anonymous voice with k-anonymity - CoDash stores no author against anonymous feedback and gates every manager-facing aggregate behind a minimum group size. Breathe doesn't offer this.
  • An AI manager coach that suggests what to raise in a 1:1, and never ranks managers against each other.
  • Isolated instances - each CoDash customer gets their own database and subdomain.
  • Breathe's maturity - a long-established UK SME product with a large customer base, a wide integration list, and a track record we're not going to pretend to match.
