Handbooks for UK employers
Where a guide answers one question, a handbook covers a whole job: every duty, threshold, deadline and record on one page, with the template for each step. Written for the person at a company of 20 to 1,000 who has to get it right without a legal department.

Each one is free to read in full, cites the primary source for every legal statement and says when it was last checked.
Employee handbook template
The fourteen sections a UK staff handbook needs, starter wording for each, and the line between what goes in the handbook and what must stay in the contract.
Read the handbook → Policies & handbookHR policies required by law
The legal list is short. Which policies statute requires, which documents you must give or keep, what changes at five employees, and which optional policies protect you.
Read the handbook → Health & safetyHealth and safety for small businesses
Policy, risk assessment, accident records, the RIDDOR deadlines, display screen equipment, first aid, fire and insurance - each with its threshold and its record period.

Checked at the source
Every legal statement is checked against legislation.gov.uk, gov.uk, the Health and Safety Executive, Acas or the Information Commission, and the source is linked at the foot of the page.
Dated, and re-dated
Each handbook shows the date it was last checked. Where the law is about to change, both positions are given with their dates.
Nothing to sign up for
The full text is on the page. An editable copy is offered by email where it is useful, and that is the only time we ask for an address.
